Tomasz Gołąbek MD PhD, MRCSI, FEBU, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Białystok in 2000. After five years as a junior registrar at the Department of Urology of the University Hospital in Białystok and earning his doctorate, he completed an 18-month fellowship in neuro-urology and a postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine in the USA. He then completed two years of formal surgical training at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, earning Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (MRCSI). This was followed by four years of urology training at Cork University Hospital and Mercy University Hospital, Cork, Ireland. After returning to Poland he continued to develop his urological expertise at the Department of Urology of the Provincial Hospital in Łomża, the Department of Urology of the Centre of Postgraduate Medical Education at the European Health Centre in Otwock, and the Department of Urology of the Jagiellonian University Medical College in Kraków, where he was an assistant professor until 2021.
In 2015 Dr Tomasz Gołąbek passed the European Board of Urology (EBU) specialist examination with distinction and became a consultant urologist. He also completed postgraduate studies in "Conducting and monitoring clinical trials" at Kozminski University in Warsaw.
In 2017 he was awarded the higher doctorate (habilitation) in medical sciences by the Faculty of Medicine of the Jagiellonian University Medical College in Kraków. He has received numerous international awards and distinctions at various stages of his career, and is a scholar of The European Urological Scholarship Programme (EUSP), the American Austrian Foundation and the Open Medical Institute. He is the author of two books, seven textbook chapters and more than 70 papers in international journals.
Tomasz Gołąbek MD PhD diagnoses and treats a wide range of urological conditions, including urinary tract cancers, stones, prostate diseases and functional urology. His main clinical interests are prostatitis, recurrent urinary tract infections and aesthetic urology. Drawing on many years of international experience, he established the specialist Prostatitis Clinic and Urinary Tract Infections Clinic, where he diagnoses and treats these complex conditions using modern diagnostic methods and multimodal therapy. Treatment outcomes depend on the diagnosis and individual factors.
