Urinary Incontinence Rehabilitation Centre
The Urinary Incontinence Rehabilitation Centre provides treatment matched to the diagnosis. Our methods are based on conservative management.
Conservative treatment of urinary incontinence in women and men is a therapeutic approach without surgery. It includes modifying risk factors, behavioural therapy, pelvic floor muscle training, electrostimulation and, where indicated, pharmacological treatment.
Pelvic floor muscle training is useful both as a preventive measure and in patients after radical prostatectomy, that is surgical removal of the prostate.
The aim of the therapy is to reduce symptoms and improve quality of life. The outcome depends on the cause of the symptoms and on how consistently the exercises are performed.
Pelvic floor muscle exercises are run by physiotherapist Maciej Michałowski MSc.
